Missing Shri Mahesh Rao, Dear Brother & Role Model

Our dear Maheshbhai was someone I looked upto in my college years. A silent teacher and contributor of innumerable laughs in his inimitable manner, Maheshbhai passed away on July 10th. I saw this evocative picture in his home.... completely in keeping with the theme of this blog. Dedicated to that great Geetacharya, Param Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji, the first love of Mahesh's huge heart. The verse displayed is Geeta 18-68.

    Love for P. G. Woodhouse's books, astute sense of politics in the Indian cricket team, most infectious laughter; these aspects were enough to win over anybody.

    For months together he tought a class for just one student.

    A true Saint. I am most fortunate to have known him.

      @Anyonymous - Yes, the infectious laughter was a wonderful trait of his.. I actually didn't know that he was a PG Wodehouse fan.. i can say that I share that with him. Thanks...

In every field, let Dharma flourish - क्षेत्रे क्षेत्रे धर्म कुरु

August 9, 2012 Swamini Vimalanandaji has done a series of talks at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) called "406 SMS – Sure Mantras for Success from Bhagwad Geeta" (item 406 at this AMA link ). In this she has a very interesting take on the 1st line of the Bhagavad Geeta. धर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे  १-१ dharmakShetre kurukShetre 1-1 <i> on the holy plain of Kurukshetra... </i> Swamini turns that slightly and says,  क्षेत्रे  क्षेत्रे  धर्म कुरु -   kShetre  kShetre  dharma kuru.
